David Beckham Cheers Yolanda Victims on Valentine's Day

David Beckham chose to visit Philippines to share some joy with survivors of super-typhoon "Yolanda" in Tacloban on Valentine's Day. He was reported to spend some time with the kids playing soccer, drawing and reading books.

Beckham admired Filipino's spirit "I was humbled to visit Tacloban and see how people are still so full of spirit despite the devastation they have suffered." He added "Close to six million children are affected (by the typhoon) and many have lost loved ones. As a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, seeing how children are being given a sense of normality amidst the rubble of their communities has been amazing. I want to show people around the world how their generous donations have had an enormous impact on children and their families and how thankful people here are for their kindness."

It has been reported that his and  his wife, former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham's 20 boxes of designer clothes and shoes were already donated to the British Red Cross to raise funds for the "Yolanda" survivors last year. He is the third international celebrity after Justin Bieber and Alicia Keys to visit Philippines and bring cheers to "Yolanda" survivors.

David Beckham is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador (United Nations Children's Fund Goodwill Ambassador) since 2005. English Football Superstar David Beckham
