A New Pinoy Pride: Let It Go Composer Won Best Song on Oscar

Fil-Am composer Robert Lopez won Best Song for the hit "Let It Go" at the 86th Academy Awards on Monday (Manila time). "Let it Go" is the soundtrack of the Disney movie "Frozen. 

Lopez dedicated his victory to fellow Filipinos. Shortly after winning his award, he told "Thanks, Filipinos! Pinoy pride!" to ABS-CBN North America News Bureau. "I just want them to know that it doesn't matter what you look like, doesn't matter where you're from, if you work hard and pursue your dream, it can dream," he added.

He is now the youngest award-winner in four of the most prestigious award-giving bodies in the United States -- the Emmys, Grammys, Oscars and Tony Awards.
In their (Lopez and his wife and co-writer, Kristen Anderson Lopez) speech, they also thanked their children for the inspiration in creating "Let It Go."

They also expressed their plan to hold a benefit show for typhoon "Yolanda" victims.
